emma & grace

In a world that seems to be getting crazier by the minute, for Grace, it is absolutely crucial that her daughter knows that she will always be there to support her. For Grace and Emma, it is the two of them against the world. This is a mother-daughter relationship rooted in trust, honesty, expression, and unconditional support.

Growing up, Grace’s understanding of beauty came from her participation in pageants, dance, and hours of looking through fashion magazines. For her, it was all about having the right makeup, always having your hair done, projecting herself, and leading life with absolute confidence. She said it was like training to be something and someone bigger than yourself. Back then, this is all that mattered to her, but as she got older, she realized that none of that actually mattered in life. As she traveled the world, she appreciated that different people had different interpretations of what beauty is supposed to look like. She soon developed the belief that people exaggerate beauty to create this aura of perfection with the perfect makeup, hair, body, and life; however, true beauty comes from within. Now, her routine is to take care of her body, mental health and be true to herself.

As a single mother, raising a daughter in an era controlled by social media, Grace continues to instill confidence and self-care values in her daughter. She is so excited to see Emma grow into her own taste and style rather than letting the weight of social media distract her from her authenticity. She has made it her goal to support her daughter with every endeavor because that support was lost to her as a child. Grace was raised by her nanny and did not have any positive female influence in her life. She knows exactly what it’s like to grow up feeling empty and feel the need to bury these feelings deep inside. But that is not something she will ever let Emma feel. As a young 11-year-old, Emma is still learning how to navigate this crazy world that we live in. She has a long road ahead, but at least she knows that the concept of perfection is a hoax and the best that we can do is just be ourselves.
